Guest guest
Over the past three weeks, my mother's condition has changed dramatically. She can no longer walk without us " hugging " her. It takes two of us to get her in and out of bed, on and off the toilet, and in and out of the shower. Her conversations make NO sense. We decreased the Seroquel at her primary physician's request because he was worried about her BP, so now she babbles all day long at people who aren't there and she cries out and talks in her sleep. If we increase the Parcopa, to help her PD symptoms, I know the hallucinations will get worse. Not sure what to do. Is this the beginning of the end? Guest guest
Gladys, I agree with Courage. Do check about the UTI. I forgot it every time and would call her MD and he would always check for UTI and sure enough. You know you can get home tests for that. I never knew that either. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Re: dramatic changes Hi Gladys, There comes a time when the PD meds just don't work as well as they did in the past. In our case, we decided not to increase mom's PD meds because we knew that it would just increase mom's hallucinations and anxiety. We kept mom on her reg dose of PD meds until she became bed-bound and then we got rid of them entirely. Also, there is the old checking for a UTI. Sending you and your mom strength.
