Guest guest
Cheryl, Kennedy also does this with certain signs, especially when she's excited or really wants something NOW! We sign the correct signs back to her though. Mom to Kennedy 23 mos old CHARGEr, 10, 8, and wife to Graeme New Brunswick, Canada Visit the " Weir homepage " at: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Palms/5716 ICQ #1426476 signing Hi! has started creating blended signs like: thumb on chin waving for bye bye mama thumb on forehead waving for bye bye daddy signs for want and help combined into one sign for want help Does this sound familiar to anyone whose CHARGEr signs? We are continuing to use standard signs with him rather than his creations. Although we think that it is cute and clever, it would be better for him to use regular signs that everyone can understand. At least we hope that it is cute and clever and not that his brain is blending everything together... We try not to reinforce her made up signs, but sometimes I forget that they are not real. I dread my first conversation with a grown up deaf person.
