Guest guest
after i began taking synthroid 25mcgs, for my hashimotos, i experienced forceful heart beats, insomnia, increased anxiety, etc. my endo took me off the synthroid. i told him i had read that the body needs time to adjust. he got upset with me and discharged me. i explained it to my cardiologist who asked if he could treat me. i agreed. he started me back on 12.5 of synthroid in early a.m. for 2 weeks, and then added 2.5 of cytomel, every other p.m, for 2 weeks. then after 2 more weeks he increased cytomel to every p.m. on weigh in yesterday i had gained 10 lbs. he thinks it's from the synthoid, so he discontinued it and now has me on cytomel 2.5mcgs, twice a day, a.m and p.m. is anyone familiar with this protocol? thanks in advance for your comments and ideas! lois
Guest guest
Some people do best on Cytomel only, Lois. How were you feeling other than the weight gain? They have had you bouncing around on different protocols it sounds like - that would be my only concern. No one improves much on such a low dosage. Could be it was just taking your body a while to adjust, but then again going T3-only may be what you need. What have your T3 lab results looked like? ~ > > > after i began taking synthroid 25mcgs, for my hashimotos, i experienced forceful heart beats, insomnia, increased anxiety, etc. my endo took me off the synthroid. > > i told him i had read that the body needs time to adjust. he got upset with me and discharged me. > > i explained it to my cardiologist who asked if he could treat me. i agreed. he started me back on 12.5 of synthroid in early a.m. for 2 weeks, and then added 2.5 of cytomel, every other p.m, for 2 weeks. then after 2 more weeks he increased cytomel to every p.m. > > on weigh in yesterday i had gained 10 lbs. he thinks it's from the synthoid, so he discontinued it and now has me on cytomel 2.5mcgs, twice a day, a.m and p.m. > > is anyone familiar with this protocol? > > thanks in advance for your comments and ideas! lois >
