Guest guest
I have a new problem with my husband, he takes things out of the freezer and leaves them on the counter. Last night he took out Ice cream pops and opened a couple and put them in the drawer. Nice mess I had this morning. Is there any kind of device I can put on the refrigerator that would sound an alarm if he opened it.. Maybe some one has a answer for me. Thank you, June M. **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? There's a new fashion blog, plus the latest fall trends and hair styles at StyleList.com. Guest guest
Can you get a small bell and tie it on the refrigerator door handle somehow. Then, when e opened it, it would ring. My husband did that several times; took ice cream out and sat it on the top of the refrig. took out chicken and put it on the counter (this is the spare refrigerator in the laundry room, which I don't always go into), so it completely thawed and I didn't know how long it had been there. Guest guest
June, My daughter had a plastic belt like thing that she put on her refrig for her kids when they were little. It was sort of like a seat belt closer that fit across it so it wouldn't open unless you could figure out how to undo it. I imagine they got it at the hardware store or Home Depot or some such place where they sold safety locks for kids. I don't imagine he could get the freezer open with it on. But you might want to give it a try. I know it is gone now, so it must be just stuck on. I will ask where she got it. Guest guest
I had the same problem with my kids. So, I bought a good sized tool box, put a lock on it, and kept it in the refrigerator for Pepsi, etc. I had a couple in the freezer for candies, and popcycles. It did cause some people to wonder why I kept tools in the refrigerator, LOL. Another time I had to just take a chain, and wrap it around the freezer and refrigerator, using an inexpensive lock. Sure made things look strange in our home, though. I also know that if you know how, you can attach a lock pretty easy, but don't do it unless you know how, because you could accidently screw through the insulation gas stuff, and that would be awfully expensive to repair!! There are also buzzer/alarms that can be put on doors and windows, I bet they could be put on refrigerators/freezers also. I have a pack of 4 that I bought at a regular department store. But, the buzzer might not stop your husband and you might not hear it. Bye for now, Gloria Help........ .... Guest guest
Hi all, I'm pretty sure you cand get those things at Toys R Us, too. I remember getting a lot of " kid-proofing " stuff there. I never did get anything for the fridge, though, just for the outlets and cabinets. I put foam on sharp corners, but I had to be creative to get it to stay on; I'll bet that now there are all sorts of other kid-proof options. Helene Subject: Re: Help............ Guest guest
I got for the closets, and I even got a child proof microwave that locks. I take the knobs off the stove. I think for now I am going to put bells on the handles, until I can look around. Thank you. June M: Hi all, I'm pretty sure you cand get those things at Toys R Us, too.
