Guest guest
Mold actually GREW on my leather suitcase that was in my closet. I don't know if that helps, but i threw mine out. I SAW HUGE green circles of mold growing. It was quite gross. > > I'm worried about cross-contamination and my health. What have people > done about their leather purses and leather shoes? Whenever I saw white (mildew) powdery stuff growing on the leather itself, I got rid of it. Probably could have wiped it off with vinegar and killed it;. but just the thought of it made me gag. llaci
Guest guest
I was lucky in that none of my shoes, etc. actually got moldy. If it has mold growing on it or really smells, I would throw it out. If not, it s probably fairly cleanable. FAR more so than fleece.. Probably more even than cotton or many fabrics. Smooth leather that has been well kept is not that difficult to clean. But I can imagine how bad leather gets if its in a wet place. After all, its dead flesh.. ugh... Ive never had to deal with that. The only leather item I had that actually grew mold was a binocular case that was in a bookcase against a wall and I threw it away immediately. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback. None of my leather items have mold growing on them. I'm worried about invisible mold spores and mycotoxins. I know the safest thing would be to throw all of it away. I was told I could wipe them down with ammonia. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > I was lucky in that none of my shoes, etc. actually got moldy.
