Guest guest
I think a very good way of looking at things when it comes to mold is that mold can break down EVERYTHING that is " organic " , meaning anything that once was or still is alive. That IS molds FUNCTION!!!!! So, leather, cotton, poly blend...what ever!!!! So unless your items are made of steel, GET RID OF IT. I had to buy my children new carseats because of Stachy in a brand new RV we bought, $1000 for 4 new seats. I understand that mold is beyond a financial burden, I really do...but as it was said in an earlier post, without your health you have nothing, and that is a statement I think we all know to be true. Although not " name brands " you can get inexpensive clothing from Target, Walmart, Ross...etc. Of course they are made in China or another country that may have shady practices when it comes to manufacturing clothing, BUT.. you have to pick the less of two evils, something we do constantly in our society. There is no perfect answer, we all just do the best we can and the rest...remains to be seen. To me, the bottom line is that if you can't afford an entire new wardrobe for everyone, then buy a couple of outfits for each member in the family and wash clothes every day if you have to. Winter is on our tails so buy layering pieces that you can mix and match making them look like different outfits. And if you are so strapped that you can't go to wal-mart ect, then why not go to a local church and explain your situation? They can always make the anouncement that all donated clothing should be free of mold. Just you doing that will make anyone who hears your story aware that they too could be exposed to mold, the gift goes both way in that sense. Barely anyone has a clue about mold, I know I didn't know one single thing about it, was NEVER affraid of it, didn't EVER think about it. What I wouldn't give to have heard anyone's story before our exposure, it never would have happened because I would have had my radar on as I do now. Once you've been exposed to mold the smell is UNMISTAKEABLE, you know what I'm talking about!!! There is NO shame in mold exposure, only shame in those who don't share their knowledge and experience in mold exposure. You've made a big and burdening decision by leaving, now follow through with a fresh start, and a head start at recovery by disposing everything that could harm you and your family. Best wishes...
