Guest guest
I found this for VIP - http://www.vivo.colostate.edu/hbooks/pathphys/endocrine/gi/vip.html Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide VIP is a 28-amino acid peptide structurally related to secretin. It was originally isolated from intestinal extracts and shown to be a potent vasodilator. Subsequent work demonstrated that VIP is very widely distributed in the peripheral and central nervous systems, and probably should not be considered a true GI hormone. A huge number of biological effects have been attributed to VIP. With respect to the digestive system, VIP seems to induce smooth muscle relaxation (lower esophageal sphincter, stomach, gallbladder), stimulate secretion of water into pancreatic juice and bile, and cause inhibition of gastric acid secretion and absorption from the intestinal lumen. Certain tumors arising from the pancreatic islets or nervous tissue (called VIPomas) secrete excessive quantities of VIP, and are associated with chronic, watery diarrhea. There are also several references regarding the Thyroid as well. I googled VIP Hormone. --- In , United States Vet <unitedstatesvet@...> wrote: > > I dont know the exact def. Guest guest
mine is less than 10. and I had to look up the less than, greater than 2nd grade math to remember my signs, and math was my best subject. everythings so difficult. I researched VIP and mucosal damage quite a while and remember now posting that the damage to the mucus lineings, airways, ect. had to play a major role in MCS/reactivity/intolerance. someone told me I was wrong so I forgot about it until I saw that Showmaker had tested mine. VIP plays a hudge role in this illness. mucosa damage does play a the role of reactivity/intolerance, from the nose to the bowel. I'm very interested in this VIP treatment as it seems it may help. > > I dont know the exact def.
