Guest guest
Modern Marvels: Mold & Fungus From magic mushrooms to athlete's foot to penicillin, fungi are everywhere. Learn about fungal organisms that live within our bodies, grow beneath our feet, float in the air and help create some of the foods and beverages we consume. Follow professionals as they battle mold inside the walls of one moldy home. Visit the Mushroom Farms, America's largest producer of specialty mushrooms and finally see how scientists are looking for way to use fungi to fuel cars and clean up hazardous waste. history.com _______________________________________________________________________ I don't have a link for this, happened to catch it late. Maybe someone can find the link or maybe it may be on youtube but it was interesting. They did say that mold can cause illness but that everyone reacts different. They also stated NOT to use bleach when cleaning mold/mildew.
Guest guest
I saw it. It was a very interesting, hour long show. I thought that they handled remediation issues well. One thing that was very interesting for me was that they showed people doing dry ice blasting remediation - which is incredibly fast, cleans wood completely of mold, removing the blasted off material immediately - and clearly, works well. (the blasted wood looked brand new afterward!) Badly done, inadequate, or uncontained remediations often make an existing problem worse. Dry ice blasting and vacumn addresses a number of problems - the HEPA vacumn with exhaust far away, outside, ideally is right there- resulting in immediate removal of the debris..
