Guest guest
I'm glad to see this issue raised regarding CSM and its ingredients/components. I am very allergetic (especially now after mold exposure). I have learned that I am allergic to various Yellow Dye's and according to my allergist - Yellow Dye can have a serious health affect on many " allergetic " people who are not aware of the danger of this dye. For me, it put me into cardiac arrest. Thanks to Dr. Shoemaker's office, they put me in touch with a compound pharmacy who will make the CSM completely dye free. They were absolutely WONDERFUL to work with and work very extensively with Dr. Shoemaker so they were familiar with the exact protocol for the CSM needed for treatment in regards to mold exposure (I am not sure if there are other variations of CSM used in different treatments). They even offered to call my physician directly to help save me the " explaining " on how to call in the specialized prescription for this drug. And...they DO accept many forms of prescription health insurance. Since I do not have a valid Rx plan at the moment, I found their cost for this drug to be very, very inexpensive in comparison to many of the meds that I am on. They will make the medicine for me and for a complete supply of custom compounded CSM, with express shipping directly to my door - it came to a total cost of $146. Like many of you, I am also out of work and money has been an enormous issue. I know even this cost may seem extremely burdensome...and if it is difficult for you - please take the time to call this company and speak with Dennis. They may be able to help you...or help get the costs covered by insurance. Their information is as follows: Hopkinton Drug Co. in Hopkinton, MA 800-439-4441 (Dennis is at extension 117) They were such a big help to me (and Dr. Shoemaker's office for putting me in touch with them directly) that I just wanted to share this information in the hopes that it might help someone else. Insurance companies don't cover it. **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? There's a new fashion blog, plus the latest fall trends and hair styles at StyleList.com.
