Guest guest
I had to get off Lyrica for swollen hands and feet... I was so disappointed because I was told wonderful things about this drug and fibromyalgia-like pain...I was on it for two days and my hands and feet swelled and I called my neurologist and he said off...off...off.... I have no idea if they have the same statistics for Lyrica and depression and/or osteoporsis and topamax and neurotonin but I was all excited when I heard they had a new drug for the nerve pain and for fibromyalgia... So please check with your doctor about side effects... I also had no idea that swollen hands and feet were a serious side effect..I " assumed " that would be like " breathing difficulty etc... Guest guest
I was also excited to try Lyrica...However, by the second dose...my hands and face swelled...I looked horrible when I woke up and looked in the mirror I wonder what chemical is in Lyrica that causes swelling. You should always read the side effects and warning signs on the medication sheet that is usually accompanied with your medications from the pharmacy. This will prevent any sudden trips to the ER. Guest guest
Once in the hospital, I was put on Lyrica, and I was all excited about it, too. It eased the pain some, but that is alot. And it had a calming effect to the constant anxiety. But for those two days, the palms of my hands were so itchy, that I was constantly scratching hard, and if I happened to be on the phone, the person at the other end always wanted to know what that noise was. When I got home, and tried to get the script filled, my pharmacist would not fill it. He said that itching and swelling of the hands and feet are common allergic reactions to Lyrica. Needless to say, I was very disappointed, because it did help and that doesn't happen too often. Debbie
