CROSS LANES --

Concerns of mold at one local school have parents demanding answers.

Tuesday evening at Middle School, the Local School

Improvement Council met with parents, teachers and staff to discuss

the mold problems inside the building.

Several parents on hand say their kids have been coming home from

school feeling ill and doctors tell them it has to do with the

school's dirty condition.

" [Tuesday my daughter ] came home from school and she had

splotches all over her here and around the neck here, " said

Kidd, pointing out the marks on her daughter's body.

" They need to shut this school down for at least a week or two and

clean it from top to bottom front to back, " said parent .

Board of Education member Pete Thaw was in attendance at the meeting.

He took pictures and information back to the rest of the board.

As far as testing, air quality inside the school was checked on

September 18th. County Maintenance Director Terry Hollandsworth tells

13 News they will release information regarding the results Wednesday.
