Hi all! My name is and I am posting this upon my husband and

my behalf. We live in San Texas, he is 30 yrs old. He has

been having horrible headaches associated with excrutiating neck pain

for maybe 10 yrs and he had never done anything about it until this

past week. The pain would just come if he coughed to hard, sneezed

hard, strained his back lifting something. So we went to our Primary

Dr and she done and MRI and confirmed he had chiari type 1. We are to

see a Neurosurgeon this week. We were just wanting to know what to

expect.. As far as how long is his recovery?.. how the surgery

goes?... will it help him?... anything you might think of that could

possibly help us, please inform us. We have 3 kids, including a

newborn, so this is kinda just devastated us. We had never heard

about ACM until Friday. He is a diesel mechanic and so right now they

told him he isnt allowed to go back to work. And we dont know how

long he will be out. Unfortunately as well his insurance doesnt offer

Short Term Disability, and he didnt elect Long-Term, so thats out of

the question. Any ideas for funds?? Resources? any other type of

disabilty he may qualify for??
