Guest guest
I am facing moving now and getting rid of all my clothes. I literally have no money. Do you folks have any suggestions for what to do? I thought about selling stuff that was in the second house (that was cross contaminated) and not the first-the original source, figuring other people that were not sensitive would not be hurt, but after reading other people's posts, I certainly wouldn't want to hurt anyone else. I've asked family for donations but do you all think donated clothes are ok? How do I know they are not moldy? The sniff test? -Bare-naked in the Winter > From: <kdeanstudios@...> > Subject: [] cleaning leather > > Date: Saturday, September 27, 2008, 4:36 PM > If you don't know my oppinion, you have not been reading > my posts. Guest guest
You may want to read the threads Selling your Stuff and Selling you things. At first, I thought I could save clothing by washing it. Took ALL my clothes to the laundry. Tied up 12 washers for an entire day. Washed everything 4 TIMES. Nothing seemed to work. I even had this additive. They just started stinking worse. Finally, the laundry really wanted me to finish. So, we started picking up each item and smelling it. Threw most of it out. There was one fabric that did very well, Tencel. If you do a search on Tencel, it absorbes and distributes water quickly so it will evaporate quickly. Tencel is a natural produce which Bacteria does not grow on. See here - http://www.lenzing.com/fibers/en/textiles/4180.jsp;jsessionid=776F9B3C3A72A28373\ 1 D2269E23FC2F0?rdc=1 It's an interesting read. --- In , Michal <michalvictoria@...> wrote: > > I am facing moving now and getting rid of all my clothes. Guest guest
Thats what I did, I'm still wearing clothes that were given to me. the only ones i can't wear are the ones with fragrance i can't get out. I walked away from a wardrobe valued over 15 grand easy if not more!! My furnishing, wedding dress, baby clothes. Its all just stuff. with out your health your nothing. It sucks having to go through all this but remember none of the stuff defines who we are, matter of fact this illness dosn't define who we are as people. It takes more courage to go threw what most of have had to do to feel just a little better. There are times when I miss my stuff but than I remember how it made me sick and those feelings go bye-bye!! One day at a time a

Guest guest
most of my stuff is still in my house rotting right along with it. I managed to save some pictures that were framed and a few other things. glad I did, but I didn't just move all my stuff to another place, I didn't even mess with any of it for about a year than went in with a mask and got some things I wanted to try to save and sat them in the yard and cleaned one by one and brought them in to see if they bothered me. these were non-porus items. the only things I kept that I cleaned but still can't tolerate and keep in sealed plastic containers in some antique books. > > I walked away from everything not knowing if anything could be > salvaged or not! Guest guest
thanks a! It's good to hear from you! I found a granny unit, BTW that feels ok to me, after months and months of searching. I move in Nov. 1. Maybe now I can start on the road to healing in earnest.. Unfortunately, my husband and I are having to live in different places. We have grown so far apart I don't know if it is fixable. We're starting couples therapy, but I am grieving and feel this sense of doom. It is very hard. > From: a Townsend <kmtown2003@...> > Subject: Re: [] cleaning leather > > Date: Saturday, September 27, 2008, 9:09 PM > Thats what I did, I'm still wearing clothes that were > given to me. the only ones i can't wear are the ones > with fragrance i can't get out.
