It also might help to get your level of vitamin D tested.  It's a simple blood

test. You may find that you are not as deficient as you think -- or you are.

There are other sources of vitamin D than vitamins, like milk (which I can't and

won't drink), cheeses/yogurt, and certain fish.

Moderate sunlight at the right time of day is the best source of vitamin D. And

some think there is an over-reaction to not getting ANY sunlight, that has

caused the current state of widespread vitamin D deficiency. Just theory,

though.  LIke anything, in moderation at the not-burning time of day, exposing

arms and legs, is how we can absorb some vitamin D.  Most of might get enough

just driving.

However, it is important to also have vitamin k to synthesize D, or all those

supplements won't do any good. And, a multiple, for sure.

My doctor recently started me on something new called Fosteum, for ostepenia.

Its a prescription supplement that is like a mega-dose of the active ingredient

of soy, without the soy allergens, I think it also has d and k in it.  Insurance

does not pay for it yet, but we are appealing.
