Guest guest
Can anyone explain to me in laymans terms the connection between bad discs and the CM1? Last year - LONG before I even know about Chiari, I suddenly had a discectomy at L4-5 when I couldn't pick up my right leg. The surgery was minimally successful because I had ignored what I thought was just a " bad sciatica " for quite a long time. I had not had much lower back pain at all and thought it was nothing. Now I find with a cervical MRI that I have three bulging discs impinging the spinal cord. Well two are impinging, one is bulging, but not bad. I also have pain in my thoractic, around my bra strap like someone else just mentioned. HOnestly, I'm AFRAID to find out!! But since the cervical MRI ended at T1 and showed what the radiologist indicated was likely the top of a syrinx (don't ask ME why he didn't go further down that time!), I know I'll need a thoractic MRI now. But I am curious now seeing so many others mentioning issues with discs. Why is that?
