To decrease the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), _parents may want

to use a fan to circulate the air around a sleeping baby_

case-control study suggested.

Fan use was associated with a 72% reduced risk of SIDS after adjusting for

several other known risk factors (OR 0.28, 95% CI 0.10 to 0.77), De-Kun Li,

M.D., Ph.D., of Kaiser Permanente Northern California here, and colleagues,

reported in the October issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
