Guest guest
I often feel remiss about not posting my experiences but want to share this weeks adventure. Pain management has recently again become a problem. My physcian and I decided to try Lyrica which I have taken before and which TCI had rx'd. I started it about two weeks ago. My fingers have been swelling and my rings were getting so tight, I planned to have them cut off. The fact that I had recently lost 12 pounds made it hard to figure out why my fingers were larger. My dose was increased and I spent 24 hours with increasing swollen left fingers and new muscle cramps from my waist to calves which were constant, preventing quality rest. My original pain was burning and pretty bad but intermittent with activity. I could get some rest. My former colleagues knew me as the person who could figure out what was wrong with the none verbal people we served. Those learned skills have helped me self advocate for many years. So, I am a bit embarrassed to relaize it took me two weeks and I almost had my rings cut off before making the connection, with the addition of Lyrica to my plan of care. Each of us handles medications differently and the way our body responds can change over time. I am so thankful that I want to remind people to be extra observant of changes in their bodies when new medications are added. Peace & Comfort be with each of you.
