Guest guest
I'm not an expert in chemical sensitivities, but have had experience with it for over 18 years now, and I'm just going to throw this out there for consideration. You say that your friend got worse from the treatment he received from Dr. Rea. What many do not understand about chemical sensitivities is that once you start removing reactants from your environment, you are most likely going to begin unmasking all of your sensitivities. You will get worse before you get better. To say that the body will adapt to a chemical is what is known as masking. Your body may adapt to the point that it has no external symptoms, however, that doesn't mean that your body has rendered that chemical safe. Everyone is different and that is what makes this illness, whether caused by mold or other exposures, so difficult to treat. In regards to studies showing that children have fewer allergies etc when exposed to germs etc, I do not believe that chemical exposure can be seen in the same way. Your immune system builds immunity to germs and allergens. It does not build immunity to chemicals. If you are unable to detox a chemical properly, you will suffer some consequences. Genetic tests are now available to show if you have problems with detoxification. This has been my experience and what I have learned over the years. There is still so much that needs to be learned about what is happening to us. I have never been to Dr. Rea, but he has over 30 years of experience treating the very ill and of course, no treatment will work the same for everyone. However, avoidance is the key to getting better when it comes to chemical sensitivities. >>What you write is true. He puts people in an environment where they have none of their exposures at all, and then he exposes them rather intensely (with provocation or what you call allergy shots). The body has an adaptive mechanism that is useful. If given the chance to " learn " it will adapt to a chemical, so that a later exposure won't kill it--whereas without the adaptation the exposure would be fatal. Now of course you can overadapt (masking) etc. However a friend of mine who is quite prominent in the nutrition industry and a PhD went to his clinic decades ago and got much sicker, got sensitized to so many things. He had to work hard to improve himself. But he is healthy today. But he didn't do it at that clinic--that clinic made him worse.<<
Guest guest
My friend is quite healthy today and a marathoner. He did not fare well at that clinic. You could read about the science of adaptation and exposure. The body does it for a reason. Its a balancing act. Putting someone in an artificially pure environment, FASTING THEM, which Dr. Rea often does, and then exposing them very intensely with shots of substances, can be dangerous. Sorry but that's the truth.
