Guest guest
Wow! I sent the " surgery after 60 " email and received about 20 responses, so we " older " folks are out there and we are strong! Many thanks to everyone for their helpful suggestions. I am almost 62 and did not have my first Chiari symptoms (balance, POTS, etc.) until 58....was diagnosed through an MRI as having a 9mm Chiari at 59 and finally found a nsg who is a Chiari specialist when I was 60. What I didn't know until I found him was that some of my problems, such as my life-long acute insomnia, were caused by the Chiari. I just thought that I was an overly anxious person. My nsg recommended surgery to prevent the symptoms from getting worse and next week I go to TCI to get a second opinion on surgery. I will write again when I have learned more.
