Guest guest
I have been working on my son who is 5 now since he was 1 1/2, and have seen many improvements, but he is still fighting autism. What are my chances of having him fully recovered since he is now 5? Has anyone done it around this age or later?
Guest guest
we began at 1.5 yrs old also (aggressive - diet at 17 mos. supplements at 20 mos., valtrex at 24 mos., chelation at 26 mos. etc) - my son turned 6 in July and is nonverbal. I just keep plugging along.. his puzzle is complicated and we have never had a specific " wow " with any intervention, but lots and lots of mini-wows that are all finally begining to culminate. Obviously, my son was very sick. I look at the entire journey these past 5 yrs as building the ultimate foundation. The gains won't stick, just like a house won't stand, unless the structure is strong enough to hold it. I feel like we have finally gotten him to that place. Toxicity is coming down (after 4 yrs of excreting metals), viral is starting to purge, and his overall demeanor is seemingly less autistic. He is happy, healthy, engaged, funny, sleeping great, pooping great, and his transitioning is probably better than most NT kids. He listens, stays with me, and follows all simple commands nicely. We know he has been learning all these years with therapy, but b/c he is nonverbal, it is difficult to really know what he knows (which I believe is A LOT!). So, this " marathon house " we are building is now ready for the furnishings... language, cognitive leaps, and dare I say, socialization and toy play, lol! I often say, my son is not a " non responder " , he is the " tortoise responder " ... it may be at a turtles pace, but we'll get there! Keep the faith, > > I have been working on my son who is 5 now since he was 1 1/2, and have > seen many improvements, but he is still fighting autism.
