Guest guest
Look for Doug Kaufmann's book on fungal link with diet in it, and he has a recipe book too...I think. The Zone Diet by Barry Sears would work also. > > I have finally been able to have testing to determine exactly what molds I am allergic to, not > just a general mold allergy. Guest guest
Boy, I hear you. I also had to change my diet in a pretty big way. But I was able to do it. You can too. It can be a job, though. > > I have finally been able to have testing to determine exactly what molds I am allergic to, not just a general mold allergy. The top of the list is Candida Albicanis. I have been told to go on the mold diet, but am finding it very difficult to impliment . > > Just about everything I like to eat is on the " do not eat " list. That is probably a big part of the problem. If you are eating food that the fungus likes to eat, then you are feeding the fungus. I had a similar problem. It was very hard to change everything in the diet, I had to modify the candida diet and change it somewhat in order to feel ok. > > Can anyone post some recipes that fall under the guidelines of the mold diet? What I did was to eat mostly vegetables and proteins, with good fats added. As a vegan, it was fine. I ate vegetable proteins, not meat. But you can do it however you want. I also ate NO White foods- they are almost all starches, and not good. No bread, I ate tortillas, or rice (brown rice, not white rice). White rice is just like eating sugar, just ask any diabetic, they are not supposed to eat white rice either. I did eat a little bit of sugar, I ate sweet tarts candies, one or two after a meal, or my brain would just not work at all. It has something to do with brains needing simple sugars, but when the fungus or candida is eating all that sugar, there is none left for the brain. Simple organic foods are fine. So just eating green beans and a veggie burger patty (a protein rich type, it says on the label) with some salad dressing on it is a good meal. Add in greens, salads of good types of lettuce, etc. Simplify, simplify, simplify. I hope they told you to add some probiotics, like acidophilous, or Garden of Life probiotic. Those things fight with the candida and help get rid of it too. The other thing my doc had me take was digestive enzymes. I took them with meals, and then she had me take them in between meals for a few days every so often to clean out the gut. It is important for the food we eat to be digested. If it is not, it causes lots of problems, and the candida feeds on it too. As always, this is what worked for me, your mileage may vary, and you will need to use your own discretion. But diet change is essential. Also check out the symptoms that show it is working- if it is working, you will feel awful. It is all on the candida sites.... Guest guest
What do you mean if it is working I will feel awful? I didn't think I could feel any worse than I already do..... Can you refer me to a site that clues me in on this? Thanks, > > > > I have finally been able to have testing to determine exactly what > molds I am allergic to, not just a general mold allergy. Guest guest
It is because when the candida dies, it emits toxins. It has to be killed off one way or another, so there is not much of a way to get around the die off reaction. It is also known as Herxenheimer reaction. There are ways to minimize it, they include binders to bind the toxins in the gut, to keep them from being re-absorbed, sweating because what ever gets sweated out does not have to go through the organs, and that also avoids the herx. Some protocols use something to get the bowel cleaned out during, like enemas or epsom salts to cause the runs, that also helps, because the bowel is where many of the toxins become reabsorbed. The other thing is to push pure water- either distilled water or purified water, keep drinking, that will help too. I'll post a few things separately.... > > What do you mean if it is working I will feel awful? I didn't think I could feel any worse than I already do.....
