Guest guest
If I am not mistaken you are going to have a breathing test? Is that correct? That is not the same as getting oxygen to the brain. I cannot remember what test Shoemaker did to figure out I was not getting enough oxygen to the brain , I just know it was one of the blood test he did. He perscribed Trental for that. It helps get oxygen to the brain. The breathing test is stricktly for your lung capacity. If it gets to the point where you need to have a broncoscopy you might ask if he or she understands that bronkiactasis and symptems of bronkitis can be brought on by inhalation of fungas and/or its toxins. That way he can test for that. Other than that I cant really think of any other specific questions to ask but I wish you the best... From: TheBeth <thebethinator@...> Subject: [] I'm a nervous wreck! MCS & air test (what to ask) Date: Saturday, November 22, 2008, 9:14 PM Man, my house hasn't been bothering me as bad lately, perhaps because I'm taking meds for a sinus infection or perhaps I'm building up a tolerance, or maybe the heater is killing some of what was bothering me as it heats the air so not as much is coming out... Whatever it is, I still get brain fog as if my brain isn't getting enough air, kinda tingly feeling when I come home and after I've been inside for so long, I don't notice it anymore, (is this normal?) And now on top of everything, just to make it all more confusing for me and harder to know what exactly is bothering me is EVERYTHING bother's me now, I believe I'm developing MCS... ugh! Is this common with mold exposure?? Definately feeling lack of brain air right now though Supposed to be getting an air test soon, anyone knowing what to ask the checkers before they check, please input, Thnx! I'm just worried they wont be able to detect enough of whatever now that the weather is freezing at night!
Guest guest
Actually an air sample test on the house is what we're supposed to be getting very soon, so hopefully it will pick up whatever it is in the air that is bothering me so bad, but the air to brain test might end up being necessary if we cant figure out and fix this problem soon and i have to stay in this house. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any specifics to make sure they test the air samples for and other details to be aware of, like testing the hvac unit or time of day or year and what chemicals other than mold it might test for etc... > > If I am not mistaken you are going to have a breathing test? Guest guest
Beth, I only had trouble with my house in the summer so it can be seasonal. Some of the reasons that season makes the difference is that higher humidity in the summer can increase humidity in the house which is conducive to mold. Another reason, that I had, was that the air flow in house flows in a different direction in summer than in winter. In the summer air flow, if there is any, is from the hot part of house, down into the cool parts of house. This means any air that can get down into the house from the attic, will carry 'attic air' down into the house which can be quit dirty and also carry insulation along with it that can injure your throat. People who are home more may be more affected, than people who are out more. Another thing could be that the air conditioner is frequently the source of mold in the house and that is running in the summer only, so you may want to check to see if your air conditioning coils are clean or moldy. --- In , " TheBeth " <thebethinator@...> wrote: > > Man, my house hasn't been bothering me as bad lately, perhaps because > I'm taking meds for a sinus infection or perhaps I'm building up a > tolerance, or maybe the heater is killing some of what was bothering > me as it heats the air so not as
Guest guest
If it is really cold and the mold is growing in an outside wall, it may go dormant for the winter-mine was and I never got a headache Jan, Feb, or March. Or your feeling better couldbe a sign that you are getting worse, as in Dr Croft's 3 stages of mycotoxosis, at some point you become quiesent(sp), calm, as your body stops fighting as much and gives in to the toxins. One should re-read Dr Croft's information, and monitor symtoms, for if you are living in a moldy house, at one point, you will never be able to re-cover . I got out of my house just in time, at the beginning of stage 3, and had to be nursed by my sister, if she had not taken me in, I am sure I would have died. > Man, my house hasn't been bothering me as bad lately, perhaps because > I'm taking meds for a sinus infection or perhaps I'm building up a > tolerance, or maybe the heater is killing some of what was bothering > me as it heats the air so not as much is coming out... Guest guest
This is exactly how I developed MCS-my house made me sick. For a while it was just seasonal (hot humis summer days were worst-then every day bothered me. Now after remediation and ALOT of gutting and throwing out, I am better. Winters are hard because i can't keep the windows open for fresh air. Can I just say one thing-no one " builds up a tolerance " -what happens with MCS is that repeated exposures make you sicker and more sensitive. It is why we live in fear of being in the wrong place at the wrong time-One really bad new exposure could send me back to years ago when I was much much sicker or worse. The brain fog is a very classic symptom-mine was so obvious because I used to do the New York Times crossword puzzle in under ten minutes and now....I can't do it at all. It is one of the most disappointing things that ever happened to me. I loved crosswords. it sounds trivial but its just indicative of what happened to my brain. Thank god I'm a little better now. Get rid of the mold fast and you'll improve. Good luck, Surella Man, my house hasn't been bothering me as bad lately,
Guest guest
, where can one read Dr Croft's 3 stages of mycotoxosis? I don't remember seeing that anywhere.
