Guest guest
" Dr. , who had spent years studying the genetics of fungi, was so cynical about claims of sick buildings that she had even testified as an expert witness for insurance companies, heaping scorn on homeowners' claims about pathological mold and fungi. " So, is Dr. now intending to go back and make any restitution to these homeowners? How much money did Dr. make while testifying as an expert...who was in reality, only testifying to her personal belief. Sharon Noonan Kramer The American Society for Microbiology and the Infectious Diseases Society of America Press Release, below. ............................................................................... ... Medical News from ICAAC-IDSA: A Joint Meeting of ASM and IDSA Meeting ICAAC-IDSA: Fungi Geneticist Warns of Sick Building Syndrome WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 -- It was the smell of her Hurricane Katrina-damaged home that transformed fungi geneticist Joan , Ph.D., from a sick building syndrome skeptic into a believer. Dr. , who had spent years studying the genetics of fungi, was so cynical about claims of sick buildings that she had even testified as an expert witness for insurance companies, heaping scorn on homeowners' claims about pathological mold and fungi. But when Dr. stepped into her New Orleans home after the hurricane-driven floodwaters had receded from the brick and plaster structure, her dubious shell began to crack. " The overwhelming obnoxiousness of the odor and of the enveloping air made me start to believe in something I never had before -- sick building syndrome, " she said at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, held jointly with the Infectious Diseases Society of America meeting. Dr. 's confession came during a press conference before a symposium on the links between human disease and molds. Absent actual infection, such as athlete's foot, Dr. 's had thought fungi could not cause illness, especially the seemingly disparate sick buildings afflictions -- impotence, headaches, and hemorrhages. Then came Katrina. The hurricane left her home uninhabitable and many of her possessions had to be destroyed -- victims of the way fungi " eat. " " Fungi have a strange way of gaining nutrition, " Dr. said. " They put enzymes and acids into the environment, they turn everything out there to slime, then they reabsorb it. They literally live in their food and in their waste. " That process, she now thinks, may release volatile organic compounds that can have an effect on human health. " Perhaps what we're dealing with was not spores associated with fungi, but some volatile compound, " suggested Dr. , who left Tulane University in New Orleans after the hurricane to work at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers. Dr. is in the early stages of analyzing the fungi in New Orleans homes and then testing the biological effects of fungus-generated volatiles on worms. In the long run, she hopes to understand -- with the help of animal models -- how fungi might affect the health of humans. There are more than 3,000 volatile compounds produced by each individual fungus, making it difficult for researchers to pinpoint which fungus produces which volatile compound and what effect it might have on human health, said Denning, M.D., of North Manchester General Hospital in Manchester, England. " You've got multiple different fungi, multiple different chemicals, and different susceptibilities and symptoms to work there, " Dr. Denning said. " It's quite a complex area. " Dr. Denning's own work, presented here, concerned a randomized clinical trial in which 60 severe asthma patients were treated with the antifungal medication itraconazole or given placebo. He said the patients given the itraconazole had a " very significant benefit in quality of life, " among 60% of the patients. They also relied on fewer steroids and inhalers to manage their asthma. The reason for the success of the treatment, he suggested, is that some people are " hypersensitive " to fungi. " These individuals are sensitized so we can detect an abnormal immune response, and those fungi seem to aggravate their asthma, " he said. Guest guest
KC/ALL: It is really exciting and impressive to observe microbiologist geneticists such as Joan Wennstrom. , PhD and past VP, British Mycological Society, past president of both the American Society for Microbiology and the Society for Industrial Microbiology, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences now declaring what I have been stating about molds and mycotoxins for years. However, I will venture much deeper and pose that internally in an animal, human, or plant molds and yeasts (i.e., micro fungi) must formally colonize; strengthen (grow stronger than metabolic controls/natural defenses) in colonization in order to produce enough continuous adverse toxicity (i.e., mycotoxins) enough to weaken cellular resistance. When this occurs in a consistent internal biological environment/habitat, then molds and yeasts take on a pathogenic capability to initially weaken and ultimately transverse genetic code over time. Thereafter, just as in HIV/AIDS cellular reproduction is compromised and mutated until disease (i.e., pathogenic decomposition activity while a person is still living) begins to demonstrate symptoms of this degenerative impact. This process is referred to as " fermentation " in the case of agriculture rotting into alcoholic beverage, and serious diseases (e.g., cancer, leukemia, neural or reproductive degeneration, etc.) in animals and humans. The basic study of fermentation is this; and, how molds and yeasts are able to create fermentation, oxygen and hydrogen are extracted and used for mold and yeast survival and the genetically and immune weakened/compromised cell is left mutated and literally screaming for sugar (i.e., the primary " fuel " source for 2/3 of all neural cells, and 1/3 of all other animal and human cells). After 21 years in studying/following the molecular sciences and 10 years now of adjoining the fungal (i.e., GK " myko " ) sciences, it is fairly easy to understand the facts of this statement. The fact that for years medical doctors have reported observing evidence of fungal cells growing out of cancer cells. Dr. Otto Warburg (Nobel Prize Winner) found that simply reducing the oxygen supply to normal healthy tissue, it became cancerous. What he was really experiencing was that fungal spores, hidden in most living tissue, were able to grow aneorobically, becoming the dominant life form. Normal healthy tissue needs oxygen to live and grow, cancer and fungus cells can use sugar as their primary source of energy for growth, this is called anaerobic respiration or fermentation. What is most important is not what I relate herein, but that Professor and her fellow colleagues are beginning to seriously " dot the " I's " and cross the " T's " , " so to speak. Doctors such as Professor are incredibly essential for medical clarification in the 21st century of the " Intellectual Age " , if we as humans expect to successfully discover effective medical treatments. Sometimes in life, one's extreme misfortune, can and does lead to greater advances in human knowledge for the benefit of all. This week's good news is that recent medical test indicate that I am cancer free. I have been informed that the week of November 14, the second in a series of the " stealth " projects I have been working on will be in the Sacramento " News and Review. " You might have heard of the first, a few weeks ago, involving Mr. Bell, and an micro-organic bio-pesticide company in , CA. (http://www.newsreview.com/sacramento/Content?oid=870890) For much more about this go to Google and type in: " Bell AgraQuest CA " . More later about the article being published in November, but it is BIG NEWS! As promised over a year ago. God Bless and take care. Guest guest
Great article, Joe! It goes to show that people often have to experience this hell for themselves in order to be able to fully grasp the severity of the problem, and become " believers " . Until they are healthy they just don't have any point of reference for what we are going through, so our problems might seem impossible to them. There's no better teacher than personal experience. I will re-post this article on the IEQuality group. -Branislav > > > > > > > > >  > The American Society for Microbiology and the Infectious Diseases Society of America Press Release, below. > ................................................................................. >  > Medical News from > ICAAC-IDSA: A Joint Meeting of ASM and IDSA Meeting >  > > > > > ICAAC-IDSA: Fungi Geneticist Warns of Sick Building Syndrome > > > > > WASHINGTON, Oct. Guest guest
Sharon: Thank you so much for your concern. It has been a very rough year; my strength has been limited and tested as I am always exhausted, but I am an old soldier and I don't expect to let this all impede our progress. I am currently working on the three big " stealth " or as I put it, " Iron Triangle " processes and expect that Sacramento will once again be in the news nationally regarding micro fungi exposures and human health. Last week I expanded on two of the three, go to Google and type: 1) " Bell AgraQuest Biopesticides, " and 2) second is going to be in in the news within the next two weeks. It is a promised exclusive story so I cannot comment as of yet. 3) Is " confidential " completely at present. God Bless you and the work you are doing Sharon.
