Just for clarification before every one panics...the spring challeng is april

1st through june 15, that is almost 11 weeks. 50 workouts would be an average of

just under 5 workouts per week. If you start the challenge late, just subtract 5

off the starting number for each week you missed. Remember, the goal here is to

gain consistency, not to beat yourself up. You are not behind, just step in

where you are.

I cannot imagine doing 3-4 videos per day, in preparation for trying to get

certified as an instructor I am going to try to start working out twice daily in

the future, but with working 10-12 hours a day 5+ days per week, I just do not

have that kind of time to work out right now. That is one reason I like tae bo

and turbo jam, I think that 30 min with them is worth 45-60 minutes of some

other workout routines I have done.

When it comes to the slowness of weight loss and getting in shape, I have to

remind myself that when I was younger, I ran 5 miles in the morning, and then at

least 3-4 evenings I would workout at the gym and then I would play raquetball

several times a week as well or was in a volleyball league or on a softball team

as well...in other words, I spent a lot more time exercising than I do now. Of

course, that was all before kids, and my life is different now, as are my goals.

I am not looking for fast results, (although I wouldn't turn them down for

sure), but I am looking to be in top physical, emotional and mental condition

for the rest of my life, and to enjoy what I am doing. I am putting in a lot of

energy right now to try to change my work and family life so that I will have

enough time to get 7-8 hours of sleep and to have more time for myself and my

family. For now, I feel successful if I get in 1 workout daily with a goal of

5-6 days per week. 7 is great, but if I set that goal for myself, I know that

there will be frequent failures and I want to set myself up for success.

Our lives are in constant flux, and unfortunately, what worked last month as far

as time of day to work out, how long to work out, how to stay consistent, etc,

will not necessarily work this month, and we must find a new way and new pattern

that works for us now. It is a constant challenge, but I find that I do not go

back to square zero each time but see better habits persisting over time.

So be kind to yourselves and keep on punching. Delana.

Mercy Sakes that's a lot of working out!! Wow! I wish I could do that. I don't

know how I'm going to get in the 50 workouts by June 1st, but I'm determined to

do it. I was thinking that we had 12 weeks to do the challenge, but I was

telling my husband about it last night, and he corrected me that it's only 9

weeks or so. YIKES! I'm gonna have to get on the ball! I was getting up

early in the am and doing them, but I had to get up at 4:00 in the am!! I can

only do that for about 1 week and then I just give out! So I work out when I get

home from work in the evenings, but then I'm so rushed to do supper, clean

house, bottles, feed, clean up the kitchen, bath kids and go to bed at a decent

hour. Sometimes it's just hard to fit it all in. Does anyone else ever feel like

that too or am I just bonkers?! But just b/c I have lots to do, it doesn't mean

that I'm going to let my Tae bo fall by the waste side. It makes me feel so much

better when I do it and proud. you know?
