Guest guest
I have been on 100mg of quetiapine (aka Seroquel) for insomnia for 11 years. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's last year. One of my symptoms is heart palpitations. I am on 125mcg Synthroid for the last 3.5 weeks, and noticed that my palpitations get really bad at night, right after taking my nightly dose of quetiapine. Doing some quick googling, I found one of the side effects of Seroquel is palpitations, so I am assuming the quetiapine is making the Hashi palpitations worse. Does anyone know of any other information on the use of quetiapine with Hashimoto's? Guest guest
Hi, I found in general that when my thyroid wasn't being treated I didn't react right to many meds. At first theyy couldn't raise my thyroid meds too fast either. It took time to get my body to absorb vitamins. I took extra B's which helped ......... I had to back off the the thyroid meds at times. They can't raise it too fast or your body can't adjust. I was never given anything but synthroid, Put tons of weight on, and couldn't walk from water retention. Finally after reading here, about Armour (T3 & T4) I went to my gp and told him I need to try it. Bingo, within three days the water retension was gone. I felt better. I still have to adjust the dose at times, but I can walk. I had so much water in my feet and legs I couldn't get around. ONe dr refused to give me cytomel. SAid it was too hard to adjust. She also wouldn't give me armour. So I went to the pharmacy asked who prescribes Armour and proceeded that way. I am glad I did. It took time, to adjust everything, but there is light at the end of the tunnel .......... Joan > > I have been on 100mg of quetiapine (aka Seroquel) for insomnia for 11 years. Guest guest
Wow, my husband and I spent over an hour digging through websites and missed this. Thank you. Guess the quetiapine is out and insomnia is in.
