Guest guest
I've been reading a lot of these accounts in which its claimed that normal upkeep has been postponed indefinitely " because of hurricane Ike " Obviously, hurricanes have been happening for a long time ... Has something changed legally to make people think they can do this? Guest guest
Yes. It is completely political. That is all I will say about it. But while you think about it, ask yourself why FEMA had hundreds of thousands of black plastic coffins stored just south of Atlanta for the last couple of years with the claim that they are there for disasters just like that? (Google it) Why they would spend all that money on that, not ever using one that I know of but get caught up in " red tape " as to why things can not get accomplished is beyond me. Much of New Orleans is still just like that with orders that the land owner cant even get anything done, Yet " Hollywood Elites " like Brad Pit, BonJovi and others are the ones responsible for the parts you see on TV that have been cleaned up. When you figure that out, let me know. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â " We The People " Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â If we dont pay attention " we " will loose our rights to our freedom. > Apartment tenants living in `unlivable' mold conditions > The Pasadena Citizen* > By YVETTE OROZ > 10.25.08 > > http://www.hcnonlin e.com/articles/ 2008/10/26/ pasadena_ citizen/news/ 10 > 2608_mold.txt > > The six-by-four- foot hole directly over the tenant's kitchen table > speaks for itself at the Vista Bonita apartments. > > Managers at the complex were unavailable to comment. >
Guest guest
Huh? What I think is criminal is the way that any and every excuse is now used commonly by responsible parties in industry and government to avoid executing their respective responsibilities - This is behavior that is unacceptable and would have been unacceptable for most of my lifetime. There seems to be zero accountability at the highest levels.. its like there is an agreement between all the various predatory entities to ignore or cover up each others crimes or something.. In many cases, even if new laws have not been able to be passed or had been proposed but died in committee, there are EXISTING laws that could have been applied, but the agencies that should be applying them have CHOSEN to ignore them. Often, its funding issues. They dont have any money for enforcement of anything. There must be some kind of corruption going on and I think we need to ask ourselves, apart from the lack of funding for enforcement, whch is fixable, what is broken in these organizations that is allowing them to avoid accountability, and fix it. There need to be explicit laws against allowing the foxes to guard the henhouse. That lobbyist>government revolving door has become a SERIOUS problem. When I was a kid, (up until the 80s) ignoring dangerous things that impacted working people on such a large scale would have been unacceptable, in both government (ignoring their responsibility to do what it takes to ensure consumer safety) and in industry (do what it takes to remove irresponsible corporate officers, etc. IMMEDIATELY when its shown that they are doing things that expose corporations to potential liability.. Perhaps this was done because people DID sue them then and win, more often, it seems THEN than now. DESPITE THE DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN - i.e. " tort reform " ) Now more and more, it seems, they are rewarded.. There is a revolving door between business and government and often the most odious and irresponsible corporate lobbyists are now given jobs in Federal agencies setting policy.. and Federal officials, often leave government employ to take up careers as lobbyists.. helping the people they used to regulate avoid responsibilities. If we don't stop this, we might as well all leave, they will destroy this country. On Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 10:12 AM, <unitedstatesvet@...> wrote: .... Guest guest
 FEMA had hundreds of thousands of black plastic coffins stored just south of Atlanta  I wanted to correct this. The word is " has "  I wanted to change this because the story is very important to check out.              " We The People "          If we dont pay attention " we " will loose our rights to our freedom. >
Guest guest
Live, I first wanted to ask what the " huh " was for. I will clarify anything you did not unerstand. I agree with what you are saying but it is much deeper that what you state or understand, I am not sure which. The biggest problem is that the corporations own our government and they will not do anything the corporations dont want do lest the loss of money and many other things. Lrts not forget the Federal Reserve is a privat bank owned by the Rockafellers and I dont know who else. Like you I did not care much and have only been learning what is going on recently over the last few years. Â Anyway I know this is not a political group so I wont go to deep into it but what is relavent to this group about it is that we have not been protected against chemical and bilogical poisens at all and example being KCs post about dirt being brought into this country in a suitcase. I am begining to believe and am doing deep studies on what the government has alowed to happen but especially what may happen in the future. This should be of great concern to all of us who are already ill. The experiments, the dumped toxic waste. There is so much we dojnt know. Â Again without getting to deep into a political conversation (which is important really) in a place were it does not belong I will stop with only the relivent information. Guest guest
Disasters and emergencies happen, and FEMA is tasked by ALL of us with dealing with them. They are who is tasked with dealing with emergencies. When things like hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. happen, people often die, and wouldn't you rather they had something to put dead people in- than not? What can we all do to minimize the negative effect of emergencies on our communities? Rather than freak out that the government isn't always there when we want (or need) them to be, is there anything WE can do to make the impact less and help people in our own areas if bad things happen? Or ourselves, make it so we ourselves are more self-sufficient? Because when you get down to it, that is the best way to help, we can help a lot in emergencies by not being a burden.
