Guest guest
I've had a bit of an observation for a while and I've been somewhat offended and now I don't know how to feel....let me explain. Makhi just turned 2 mid August and was diagnosed with MDS May 30th of this year. Right after he had his diagnosis we had to have a battery of tests done and all kinds of appointments. It felt like every time someone found out he had MDS and then noticed that he doesn't have very many obvious signs they say 'Oh, he's so handsome!'. So I used to get offended and just think that was a nice way of saying 'He doesn't look like he has Down syndrome.' Lately, people have been telling me that he's very handsome without the knowledge of him having MDS. So, do you think I've been overly sensitive and proved wrong or have others noticed similar responses when disclosing or discussing MDS?
