Hi Carl,

I know there is a science paper using ERMI as an indicator and correlated

with markers of inflammation. I don't think it has been published yet. And

seeing as how I do not understand ERMI in detail nor the markers of

inflammation, I can only write in broad, general understanding. That is all I

know at the

current time. But that is also what I do know at the current time.

Also, just heard from Senator Kennedy's office. The GAO audit is complete

and the report has been issued to them. Do not know how soon it will be

publicly available or what it actually says, but kinda like the snappy title:

“

Indoor Mold: Better Coordination of Research on Health Effects and More

Consistent Guidance Would Improve Federal Effortsâ€.

If I correctly understood the presentation by Vesper,

principal developer of ERMI, at last months HUD/CDC/EPA

Healthy Homes Conference in Baltimore, ERMI is NOT (his

emphasis) ready for this type of claim.

The press release doesn't directly name ERMI but it is obvious

from the words " a relative moldiness index formulated by the US

Environmental Protection Agency. " It is again my understanding

that although EPA holds the patent they are not endorsing or

otherwise supporting it as a finished procedure. So I'm curious

about the basis for the National Jewish product - perhaps

developing their own interpretation of the data?

Anybody have additional information?

Sharon,

Interesting news, looking forward to what it says (and doesn't

say). Vesper has completed some studies with more in process.

BTW, all the presentations in Baltimore are supposed to be on

the HUD Web site but I haven't found them yet. He gave two of

them so some of these questions should be answered.
