Guest guest
Thu, Nov 20, 2008. 11:24 AM By: Mike Partin Zanesville Police Chief Lambes has put the word out that a imposter is making house calls. The imposter told a city resident on Wednesday that he works for the Code Enforcement Division and was there to check on a mold problem. Lambes warns residents not let anyone in your home without seeing proper identification. " Lucikly the homeowner was smart of enough not to allow that and closed the door. It still deeply concerns us because no telling what his intentions were. " Lambes says while no criminal activity has happened yet, he is still concerned that it stays that way. Lambes says if someone without identification shows up at a home, the key reminder is, " Certainly shouldn't open their home. They shouldn't allow them in their house. The first thing they should do if someone approaches them, is to ask for identification. All city employees carry an ID card that will identify them. If their still questions. They can still call the police department. " Chief Lambes said the same thing happened over the summer. " This person, or persons if their are others has approached several different area's of the city, so their is no one specific targeted area of the city " The man from Wednesday's case was described as a white man in his 40's or 50's and was driving a dark colored buick. That type of vehicle isn't like any of the city cars. Lambes said his officers are on the lookout for the person from Wednesday's case. http://www.whiznews.com/article.php?articleId=23324
