Guest guest
I had biospy done of small cyst in my pancreas last Friday. I have had feeling of swelling there that caused catscan and now biospy to be done. Test came back low to moderate CEA, which is marker of cancer. Marker can mean other things. Doctor said level was not high enough to be concerned but would like to relook at this next year. Even though he said he drained small cyst, I still have feeling of swelling there. I told him ahead of time and now I feel like I have inflamation there and wish they would send biospy to be tested for 'pathogens' but he didn't send it to pathology because he said he could 'tell' it wasn't infected *because there was no PUSS. Okay, I know bacterial infection would have puss, but what about fungal infection? Does anyone know if fungal infections also present with puss? He said I would have puss there and have a fever. I don't think so. It says fever for acute pancreatitis but not chronic, and chronic pancreatitis can lead to pancreatic cancer so *as usual* feel might become victim of lack of care...what's new. So, does anyone know if fungal infection produces puss, like bacterial infection? Second question, does anyone know who I can send biopsied material, if they haven't throw it out, to for second opinion on it? Thanks
