Guest guest
Most of the Sickbuildings members are from USA. One might get an impression that toxic mold is an issue mostly in USA and nowhere else. This is usually explained by the fact that newer buildings (built from 1970s onwards) were built to conserve energy, with cheap materials susceptible to mold growth (e.g. sheetrock). Has anyone recently been in any of the South American countries - Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Brazil etc? Do their building practices differ (I would expect so)? How do they maintain their AC units? Do a lot of their houses and air conditioning units have toxic mold? If so, how do they deal with the problem? I am considering to move there if finances and health permit, but I wouldn't want to just exchange one problem with another...
