No, it is paid for by us taxpayers. Canada. I have extra coverage from my

employer that includes some alternative and 100% prescription coverage. I

almost never use prescription drugs so it is a bit of a waste for me. There

is no charge for seeing an MD, going to hospital, but to see a specialist at

public expense you must be referred by your family MD.
