Hi all

I am new to the list but old to MCS and CFS issues.

I need your help on an issue.

About 8 years ago when i visited my father he showed me the bedroom. Some water

had leaked into the wall of the bedroom from the next building and all paint had

come out and wooden floor-parque-- was also wet and swollen. This flat is on 5th

floor but bedroom does not take any sunlight.central heating exists during

winter time but i do not remember at what time of the year this leakage

occurred.Paints were coming off as sheets..Daddy said he would leave it as it is

and it would dry itself. And it did. Since than about three different tenants

lived there. This room was painted at least three times.2 years ago when i went

there i saw no sign of mold neither on the walls nor on floor. This year i am

planning to move into that flat. I am now wondering if there could be a mold

problem there and if there is what should i do to solve it.

i have couple of questions on this.

if water moved into the wall once and no further exposure occurred as necessary

repair was done as soon as possible, is it possible mold has grown on it?

parquet floor was also wet and pieces of parques were swollen and curved

upwards. They also went down in time but is it possible mold to be grown

underneath?

Those are the things i am planning to do if there is mold problem there. I am

planning to scrape the wall paint as much as i can than wash the wall with

bleach solution followed by hydrogen peroxide solution.Than i am planning to

place new layer of cement on it and re-paint.

regarding floors i am planning to take the parques out. Again wash the surface

with bleach followed by hydrogen peroxide and place new wooden flooring on it.

Would you think what i am planning to do is necessary?Would it help?Would it

solve the problem completely?

thanks a lot in advance.

my answers may be late.
