I finally took the plunge after I tried some water from one of these machines - delicious - and I am hoping I'll drink more water now since I am afraid of tap water, and sick of lugging around bottled water and creating so much plastic waste! Guest guest
Oh this one looks fantastic! Problem is that I’m not going to be able to get that in the UK. Will order it when I am in the states, but I like the mix. And you said it tastes good which is definitely a bonus on the pond water Reply-To: <rhythmicliving > Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 12:14:55 -0500 To: <rhythmicliving > Subject: RE: Whole Super food -Green drinks, water alkalizers http://biomedx.com/greenalchemy/index.html Hi Everyone Here's the link to the Green Drink I like. Guest guest
Hi Christa & Nora, I find your emails fascinating. A few years ago, i was drinking Body Balance (LifeForce International--distributor MLM type of brand). Don't know if it qualifies as a " green " drink, but it is made primarily of sea vegetables, aloe vera, etc. My husband and I felt ok on it. we got sick less. However, i did head into endocrine disastor (low E, low cortisol, low T) dispite being on this plus my normal antioxidant vitamins (C+bioflavinoids). Due to the low E, my doctor suggested stopping any herbs I didn't know about, because there were a lot that interfered with E...so I stopped the body balance because I wasn't sure what was in it that could be affecting my E uptake (like passion flower or chamomile)...those weren't in there, but i wasn't sure about anything else in it that may interfer with E... Anyway, as my health seems to be on the upside now (not totally great but much more stable), I'm reading these emails and wondering if i should add a green drink into my routine like I used to with the Body Balance. The Ph thing interests me and hope i can buy some strips from Walgreens or somewhere when i do my errands today to satisfy my curiosity about my own Ph. But what I'm curious about is what the suggested serving is per day. For body balance, it was 1-2 oz/day. What are your recommended doses for this specific one below, and Nora, what about yours? Are you drinking 8-10 ozs or just a swig (1-2 oz)... my husband and I bought little measured " shot " glasses for the Body Balance back when I was drinking it with him. Also: what qualifies as a " green " drink...what does it mean to be a " green " drink? And has anyone heard about that fucoothin stuff i keep seeing pushed in the health stores (by jordan rubin i think...another incarnatin of Tony Robbins). Is that considered a " green " drink since it's made from brown seaweed? Thanks for any education you can provide. > > > http://biomedx.com/greenalchemy/index.html > Hi Everyone > Here's the link to the Green Drink I like. > > > To: rhythmicliving@...: mskoog@...: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 10:12:49 - 0500Subject: RE: Green drinks, water alkalizers > > > > > > > http://preventdisease.com/fitness/nutrition/articles/acid_alkaline.htm l# > > There is an Acid/Alkaline Forming Food chart within this article. > nne > > > > > I also just ordered a water alkalizer - the Jupiter brand has reasonable prices - from $719 US for the base model, on up. you can even find these on ebay! Guest guest
Oh my stars! Thank you Nora. This is a GREAT matrix for understanding. the other websites were brand specific so it helps to understand the big picture. I like that before i go and leap into it. i'm not even sure i need " alkalizing " however, i do drink green tea (some caffine) but never soda (never did like it)... but my downfall is sugar, even tho i limit it, i don't exclude it. I'm sure that contributes to an under alkalized body... i wonder how kombucha fits into this scheme? its an acidic drink (has a bunch of amino acids i think), but its raw and i ALWAYS feel amazing after drinking a decaffinated one. i drink it after exercise instead of a sports drink... and it really feels good. they taste good too. anyway, thanks again. i couldn't find pH strips yesterday so i'll have to order online. i wonder if Whole Paycheck offers any of these green drink brands? I don't mind online ordering, i just don't want to wait... thanks again! > > > > > > http://biomedx.com/greenalchemy/index.html > > Hi Everyone > > Here's the link to the Green Drink I like. > > > > > > To: rhythmicliving@: mskoog@: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 10:12:49 - > 0500Subject: RE: Green drinks, water alkalizers > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > http://preventdisease.com/fitness/nutrition/articles/acid_alkaline.htm > l# > > > > There is an Acid/Alkaline Forming Food chart within this article. > > nne > > > > > > > > > > I also just ordered a water alkalizer - the Jupiter brand has > reasonable prices - from $719 US for the base model, on up. you can > even find these on ebay! Guest guest
I went to a pharmacognosy consultant; now that is a mouthfull. She is actually a Registered Pharmacist but specializes in herbs/supplements because she says drugs make you sick. She told me about adding AlkaLife Alkaline booster drops to my water daily and I do that. You need to mix 2 drops in an 8-10 oz glass of water and drink 4-6 glasses daily. I am also a proponent of eating whole foods and not eating processed ones. Dark chocolate is fantastic because of the anti-oxidants and tastes great too. I eat a square every day and just know it is good for me. I think that green drinks are fine but still believe that getting the whole food is the way to go. When things get processed down some of the nutrients are surely lost. We all do the best we can with nutrition but I just know that being post menopausal ( I hate saying that; in fact I keep telling my husband I am still menopausal and regressing)my nutrition needs to be at the top of its game for me to feel great. Good luck to all.
