Guest guest
Hi All Had to share this story. Everyday, when the bus comes to pick Adam up for school, it is a complete struggle to get him on the bus. He is screaming and crying and fighting his mom and it takes her and the bus driver both to get him on. His teacher says she would never know because he comes off the bus smiling - true because we have followed the bus to school to see if he is still upset and he is not. Anyway, for the two years of preschool, the bus came from the north to pick him up and in kindergarten and now 1st grade, the bus comes from the south. By chance on Monday, the bus came from the north and Adam took his mom's hand and walked up to the bus, got on and went to his seat - just like that. We were discussing this during the day and thought maybe Adam thought the bus was going the wrong way so after school mom asked the bus driver to come from the north the next day and again Adam went right on. She even has a hard time getting him ready for school and when she told him the bus is coming from the right way today, he got a big smile and easily got dressed and went right out. This continued all week. He has been fighting not to get on the bus all through kindergarten and this year too and it was something so simple. He probably has enough language to tell us the bus is going the wrong way, but by the time it is happening, he is too upset to talk. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this kind of behavior???
