Guest guest
The post below came through this morning in regards to something else but it got me thinking. Maybe it would be easier for me to list some of the issues we are dealing with, with Tristan and then those who want to share can tell me what you did for similar symptoms? Right NOW the list below is what we see (this is a great improvement as he was nonverbal for many years. We were told he’d never speak. There were also many other symptoms that have subsided greatly through the years). He is 11 ½ yrs old now. Speech is still not completely clear Very hard time explaining things I think he knows in his head what he wants to say but can’t find the words (sometimes he will answer a question three days later when it isn’t relevant anymore) Poor reading skills Horrible reading comprehension Very poor social skills (totally doesn’t get what is appropriate and what isn’t) Touches everyone Makes loud disruptive noises Tears his socks apart every day (sometimes even eats the strings) High anxiety Very emotional Gets angry very easily Touches everyone’s hair (it is like the strings from his socks) Chews on his clothing Smells everything Looks at everything sideways through peripheral vision Asks the same questions over and over again even when he knows the answer OCD Many sensory issues Gets stuck on one subject Fine motor impairments Gross motor impairments Seems to live in a fog Doesn’t get jokes VERY literally Concrete thinker Unexplained stomach aches (could be related to his ’s disease) Headaches Hands shake all the time but sometimes harder than others Clumsy He isn’t sick very often Does have dark circles under his eyes all the time Lately he has been complaining that when he walks forward it feels like he is walking backwards? Don’t know what this means and that is all he will say. This is a very generalized list and there are more issues but I figured this is a start. Thanks! When deciding on any treatment, look at the reasons people chose it for their child, and what specifically they got out of it. What specifically are you looking for? Does your child have fevers? Is he sick a lot or not at all? Is his digestion " off " in some way? Does he speak? Does he have tantrums, stims or other behaviors that make life in your family hard?
