systemic infections / hello live simply/ fungal meningitis

hello Live Simply and all,

since this post I ahve been trying to find the correct dr. I have tried getting

referrals from MDs and from a mold dr for an

Infectious dr who will test or treat systemic infections like these, and they

have said that most ID drs are not into this kind of stuff.

Yes I am extremenly sick with fungal infections, MRSA and metals and SPECT of

toxic solvent exposure, and other infections. How do I find a dr???? It feels

like menigitis of sorts of the brain , constant migraine like headache,high

pitches and tons of symptoms.

how do you test for fungal memningitis??

One of the drs I see says half the population has MRSA, ? and is not too

concerned re spreading it, even wiht open scalp sores.

Dear Amy,

I know first hand what you are going through.  My son had a life-threatening

systemic fungal infection from toxic mold exposure while attending his high

school for three years, 2004-2007.  It's a long story and I won't go into that

right now, but, he was extremely and seriously ill.  (You can read more about

After the frustrating, frightening and exhausting experience of taking my son to

six (yes 6) different " specialists " (one of them being an Infectious Disease

specialist), all who would not and/or could not diagnose my son, we found Dr.

, Director of the Medical Center for Immune and Toxic Disorders,

in Spring (near Houston), Texas.  I can only tell you OUR experience with Dr.

and he was absolutely and positively caring.  He " listened " to my son

and to us, his parents, unlike the other specialists.  Dr. made us feel

at ease in taking up his time with our questions and relaying the fears we were

experiencing.  He was medically informative and made us feel hopeful that our

son WOULD get better. This doctor found Caleb to have several molds in his body;

Aspergillus,

Penicillium, Cladosporium, Alternaria and Tricothecene Mycotoxins from

Stachybotrys.  Very importantly, Dr. was able to treat our son through

medication and some easy changes in diet resulting in killing the fungal

infection and improving the Leukopenia.  Our son is now walking on the path of

better health and happiness. 

Dr. treated him for five months, June 2007-mid October 2007, with daily

I.V. therapy using the medication " Cancidas " .  This killed the Aspergillus with

another positive, unexpected side effect of also killing the Penicillium in his

body.  Over time, as his immune system has gotten better, his body is healing

from the molds.  Yes, our son will always be hypersensitive to mold and must

always be cautious in his environment, but life has greatly improved for him

thanks to Caleb's faith in God and his doctor, .  Caleb must

always be alert to avoiding mold (especially indoors) as much as possible, but

he is now a happy and cautiously healthier freshman in college. 

Telling you this short version of our experience is truly from the heart.  I

hope you will find somebody to be of help to you,Amy, as we did.  All I can say

to you and everyone else who reads this, is " you know your body better than

anyone, so listen to it and do not give up on getting better " .
