Below is copied from UrbanLegends. Notice the wording. It is almost word for

word the exact duplicate of " Life Is Beautiful, " which first circulated in

2002. Do your own research on things like this. Like a good keyword search

yourself. There have been instances of zip files attached to this type of

warning, but how many of you have ever actually seen a copy of the real

" Mail server report? "

There are many people out there who, for various reasons, want to scare

people off the Internet. I wonder why that is. Bottom line: If this was

real, it would mention particulars, and advise on how to cure it.

The best advice has always been to simply delete any email from someone you

do not know that has any type of attachment, without even opening it when

possible.

My best friend's wife works at a medium sized insurance defense law firm

east of Sacramento. you oughtta hear some of the stories she tells me about

their IT problems. Biff Byrum

THIS VERSION IS FALSE:

Email example contributed by W., Apr. 1, 2008:

Subject: Fwd: Major Virus Warning

Anyone-using Internet mail such as , Hotmail, AOL and so on.

This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and

Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.

You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled 'Mail Server Report'

If you open either file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It

is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC, And the person who sent

it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL

has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not

capable of destroying it.

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'.

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, And ask them to

PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!

THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY SNOPES

delete them, of course but not everyone does that and with some of the

forgetfullness that happens to some of us mistakes are made so to make this

sound so matter of fact takes away from that one person it might keep from

disaster.

As for how many have seen that email. " I HAVE " want me to forward it to you? I

might add Snopes is a much more reliable source for these things than the

telivision show, urbon legends. Two very different entities.

Please dont insult me by telling me to do research on things. Um. Snopes.com

keword and search. I think that is concidered research

Daily information emailed to me from us-cert@... Hmmm I think I am going

to trust that source as well.

This is my last comment on this issue, it is back to what we do here. I ask you

not insult people as you are doing. It really in net helpful.

Urban legends, come on bro...
