Guest guest
Oh I am so sorry Becky; this is such a terribly hard thing to do. I know from experience. I think much of the sadness comes from the " playing God " aspect of having to make that decision, but I think you really are doing the right thing. God bless you all especially today and in the coming weeks. Judie, mom to Christi, 29 and others ************** New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. It seems that Sunny has a pinched nerve in her back which is making it impossible for her to walk. This came on all of a sudden in the past 24 hours and although surgery may correct the problem, it is just not feesible on my income. I have spoken to a wonderful friend who has raised, bred & shown German Shepherds for over 20 years and both her and I have come to the same conclusion about Sunny's condition. Sunny has been whining & crying most of the morning and it took her an hour to get over the threshold in the front door. Right now as I write, she is laying as comfortable as she can be out in the front yard in the sunshine. My heart is breaking for the decision I've had to make this morning concerning Sunny. She has done so much for Austin that I can't imagine life without her. So please keep the boys and I in your prayers today we will need them for sure. Guest guest
Thankx everyone for all your warm wishes and prayers, Sunny went to be with Jesus at 1:37PM EST. I brought her back home and my nephew Jon & Trey buried her in a corner of our back yard (Denny Jon's Dad had dug her grave while I was gone). I was with her the whole time and held her as she went so Sunny wasn't alone. It was very quick and peaceful. I never want to do this again....it SUCKS! I do have another dog at home, Zoe that I've had for 3 years, but sadly she's no Sunny. Sunny could have lived longer had I had the money for the type of care she needed, long term convalscent care and specialists and surgery, but I couldn't do that to her or for her. She was too independent for that and it wouldn't have been fair to her. In my mind I know she is in a better place, too bad my heart says otherwise. It will take a long time for me to get over this for sure. I'm now off to take care of my NYC size head-ache I have from crying since waking up this morning. At least I know when I open the back door, I can turn a little to the left and say HI to her.... Thanks again everyone, Becky & Boys Blessings Abound, (Becky) Rowe Mom to Trey (8 ADHD) & Austin (6 on 10/3 MDS) ________________________________ Family Assistance Coordinator www.imdsa.org or becky@... It is heart breaking but know that you are doing what is best for her - and that All Dogs go to Heaven! Where she will be happy, * healthy,* in less pain, and waiting for you with a smile on her face and her fluffy tail wagging. We waited 6 months, before we could get another dog - you can't replace a best friend but you can get another to fill the void in your heart and home. Guest guest
Please dont beat yourself up about not having the money. You could have all the money in the world and the outcome would be the same. Maybe you could have bought a few weeks or months at best. But it wouldnt have been the same Sunny after trying to recover from surgery and so on. I see this all the time and specialist will try to make people feel bad when they dont spend the money for the slim and I mean slim chance that the surgery will resolve the problem. I am deeply sorry for your loss I had to put my best friend down once that I had hand raised from 1 week of age and it does SUCK. It will get better but not soon enough. I had to put mine down 4 years ago and she was 4 years old. So by all accounts she should still be here. But Her kidneys had failed beyond repair and I wasnt going to do dialysis. God be with you. Guest guest
, I know what you're going through, I had to have one put down about 5 years ago and it is so hard. She was like a child to me. > > > Oh I am so sorry Becky; this is such a terribly hard thing to do. Guest guest
Hi Thank you Donna, unfortuantely writing with a sad, sad heart. Please now give your thoughts and wishes for , , Caden and their family to help them through this time. I have just seen 's posting on her caringbridge website. Ella passed away later in the evening. Twomey IMDSA Secretary & Website Admin Mum to 10mds and 8 http://www.imdsa.org http://www.twomeycontracting.com/reunion.htm Subject: Prayers Please To: " MosaicDS " <MosaicDS > Date: Saturday, November 22, 2008, 2:34 PM Hello All Please take a moment to include Hauschildt and her family in your prayers. Many of us know well but for those of you who don't, she has a 5 year old son with mds. She hasn't been with us lately because her 8 year old daughter is suffering from a rare brain tumor. I just read a post on the caringbridge page that said Ella has taken a turn and is unresponsive now. They have requested no phone calls, but I am sure the Hauschildt family would appreciate all of our prayers at this time.
