I'm fairly new to this list and just got my diagnosis just this year, and I

happened to get good results right away with low-carb eating ... it seems to

work for me.

But it's clear to me that different things can work for different people --

for me, changing the balance to low-carb made my triglicerides and

cholesterols drop amazingly ... I read where others have seen their lipids

go up after changing the balance.

Since different things can work for different people, I think the list

should operate on a free exchange of ideas. If someone comes on strong with

advise or suggestions in one direction, and someone else counters that from

another direction, that's OK. Because people are only going to come to what

works for them through their own experience, and it helps to draw on

experience from a variety of directions.

IMO having different viewpoints playing can challenge people to be clearer,

more specific, more factual, more informed .. and that makes the list more

vital and helpful. I don't think we need to be protected on this list from

incorrect perspectives.

It scares me to think that some viewpoints would not be allowed because they

are not " correct. " In my relatively newbie opinion, the only stuff that

shouldn't be allowed is disruption, flaming, bashing ... that kind of stuff,

should it happen.
