Guest guest
- Where would you have this done, Dr. Hooper? I have only had the urine test for tricothecene. Guest guest
I asked Dr Hooper and he doesn't do this. However I have seen labs on the internet that list it as a test they do, found while looking up other things. However, when I called one one time they said they only do for doctors..of course. Well, there ARE a few labs online that will test you without a doctor being involved. I have used them but they didn't do blood culturing. > > - > Where would you have this done, Dr. Hooper? Guest guest
I had IGG etc and those things tested for molds by Dr Marinkovich but blood culturing to see if anything grows from a drop of your blood is done but heaven only knows when doctors are desperate enough to do that test. I just wondered if anyone had that done. I go back and forth believing I have a systemic fungal illness but perhaps I have toxic illness and no fungus in my blood but sometimes I suspect and wonder why these tests aren't done. I think what I read is if you are in hospital and a part of your body is being eaten away by something, they will culture your blood...it has to be a real weird situation, like that guy who had fungus eat part of his face. Maybe if fungus is in your blood, something like that happens so it's obvious. I just would feel better if I could get that done, which I doubt I can get ever. > > I had my blood tested for aspergillus and my levels are three times higher than average range. > > Dana
Guest guest
Blood cultures (blood C & S) are done routinely in ALL hospital labs....for bacteria, etc. I don't know if they check for fungi, though. Guest guest
I know they do them for severely ill hospital patients and they do do them for fungi in that setting but I was wondering if anyone outside of these emergency situations, someone here has had this done. >> > One can have their blood cultured for fungus or bacteria.
