Guest guest
I would " guess " so but one thing I have been told over and over is that almost everyone, especially in America is magnesium deficient if that helps??? From: Frohna <vafrohna@...> Subject: [] mAGNESIUM LEVELS Date: Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 10:32 PM Does anybody know if inhaled toxic molds / fungi can contribute to low magnesium levels? I have a reason for asking, gang. Thanks in advance! V.
Guest guest
Hi Go to our FILES section accessible form the Home Page of this forum, and scroll down the list of FOLDERS until you come to the one entitled 'Vitamin and Mineral Supplements' and read the information there about CALCIUIM, POTASSDIUIM, MAGNESIUM – Advice about taking these with thyroid hormone replacement. Read also the other information about Magnesium in that particular FOLDER. Luv - Sheila Hi all I have had a magnesium test done I'm not to sure if it's the correct one but the range was 0.7 to 1.0 and my result came back as 0.7. I would line go supplement this but I have read I need to take a calcium supplement too, has anyone come access this or does anyone take magnesium by it's self. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi there, Theorectically cal/mag should be 2:1 - twice as much calcium as to magnesium - but if you read the book the Calcium Lie - which is a must read for any of us - then you will see that if we are low on magnesium then we have too much calcium (it has risen too high) and too much calcium is NOT good for us people who are low on Mg. Hope this helps Mandy
Guest guest
Hi Mandy Hanks for your response, I looked into he info but I think it's conflicting Information as some say you have to take mag with calcium but my calcium is ok therefor do I risk taking the mag without the calcium. Thanks > > Hi there, > > Theorectically cal/mag should be 2:1 - twice as much calcium as to magnesium > - but if you read the book the Calcium Lie - which is a must read for any of > us - then you will see that if we are low on magnesium then we have too much > calcium (it has risen too high) and too much calcium is NOT good for us > people who are low on Mg. > > Hope this helps > > Mandy >
Guest guest
The only risk that needs to be recognised with Mg is that if you have a heart condition or indeed undiagnosed thyroid condition where your metabolism is very slow it can relax the respiratory system (Mg is a natural tranquiliser/reliaxant - good for headaches and muscle aches too - better than over the counter rubbish) and make you very sleepy - but apart from have loose motions (that tells you - you have reached your tolerance level - Mg is very very safe. If your calcium is OK then you should be taking Mg for a few months to balance out the ratio. Hope this helps M
Guest guest
>but apart from have loose motions (that tells you - you have reached your tolerance level - > Mg is very very safe. if you get an upset stomach/loose bowel movements because of magnesium supplementation then it probably says that the TYPE of magnesium you are taking is not being absorbed. one of the cheapest forms of magensium is mag oxide and this type often has a laxative effect. > > The only risk that needs to be recognised with Mg is that if you have a > heart condition or indeed undiagnosed thyroid condition where your > metabolism is very slow it can relax the respiratory system (Mg is a natural > tranquiliser/reliaxant - good for headaches and muscle aches too - better > than over the counter rubbish) and make you very sleepy - but apart from > have loose motions (that tells you - you have reached your tolerance level - > Mg is very very safe. Guest guest
This is supposed to be a very good, absorbable form of magnesium: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctors-Best-Absorption-Magnesium-Tablets/dp/B00151G8L8/\ ref=pd_sim_d2 You can buy it on www.iherb.com for quite a lot less. THere is also magnesium citrate , such as: http://www.yournutritionshop.com/shopexd.asp?id=2842 & bc=no You can get 10% extra off if you use the code: Dsc1210 which is the code Sheila negotiated for TPA members that site doesn't charge for P+P, either.... chris > > > > >but apart from have loose motions (that tells you - you have reached your tolerance level - > Mg is very very safe. >
