Guest guest
is fluconazole (difflucan)a standard fungal treatment, even when you dont know what fungus/mold we are treating? on wiki, fluconozole it talks about its effect on the CYP3A4 pathway. this pathway is used for xenobiotics (toxins?) and I am concerned becasue I already have detox problems and glutathione problems. are people having die off problems or side effects from this? I noticed the dose is higher for fungal memningitis, how does one get tested for this? amy
Guest guest
Some people have used Diflucan. Others have used Sporanox or Lamisil. If you use any of these antifungal drugs, your doctor needs to monitor you with blood tests because these drugs can effect your liver. Some people have problems with them and some people don't. ________________________________ From: amydent9 <amydent9@...> Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 8:55:33 PM Subject: [] fluconazole info needed is fluconazole (difflucan)a standard fungal treatment, even when you dont know what fungus/mold we are treating? on wiki, fluconozole it talks about its effect on the CYP3A4 pathway. Guest guest
I used to think this is why it was so hard to get antifungals, giving doctors the benefit of the doubt, that they are hard on the liver, so they rather not fool around with fungus, BUT my skin doctor had me do a liver test before putting me on an antibacterial drug. When I read package insert said it can do damage to liver. Some say the kidneys. Depends on how it is excreted. I guess water soluable, goes out the kidneys, not, goes through the liver. I have noticed liver trouble is listed on many drugs...but yes, have liver monitored. > > Some people have used Diflucan. Others have used Sporanox or Lamisil.
