Guest guest
Kathy, 1. Check the batteries 2. get them to GIVE you a new one. 3. Get them to replace the strips you wasted. They will do all this, believe me. fp > Hi everyone!I have a question about the test strips and my machine I > have the one touch basic and lately it has been saying I have a error > and redo I have cleaned it and it says the same thing can't figure > out what is wrong my blood sugars have been a little off so i am > concerned I like to keep them asclose to normal as I can .I am still > on Pred for lupus and Imuran I am not sure how this effects my blood > sugar will the pred I do know it makes it go high all the time and so > I have to increase my insulin or add R with it .I am also taking > Gluophage 1000 mg a day can increase to 1500 if I am still running > high bg.I am not sure how the Imuran effects it ,but if my machine is > not working right its hard to say what is happening last night I woke > up so sick and weak my bg was 54 , does any one out their might know > what is wrong ,I guess I could buy a new one what is a really good > machine hate paying so much for test strips I test 4 to 5 times aday > thanks for all of your help ,Your Friend kathy
Guest guest
Kathy, call the 800 number on the back of your machine, Lifescan is nice that way, tell them your trouble, Sam
Guest guest
Kathy, The message just means that you need to redo the check test with the test strip that came with your meter. I have gotten that message before when I accidentally pulled a test strip out too early. If you still have the book, it tells you what the error messages mean. I finally read mine after I changed the battery. I used the one touch basic for almost two years and have just changed to the FastTake from LifeScan. It requires less blood, only takes 15 seconds, and stores 150 tests. The test strips cost about the same as the strips for the basic. Guest guest
Kathy: Call the 800 number on the One Touch Basic. I'll bet they tell you to send them your old one and that they will replace it. They make lots of money on the test strips and they want you to be happy. Erwin

Guest guest
Hello Kathy, I would contact the company. My son is a type I and when we registered his meter the company said that they would guarantee the machine if anything happened to it. They want you to keep using their machine so you have to buy their expense test strips. He has a machine made by medisence. Have a great day.
