Guest guest
Hello everyone .. My name is Tom I am new here, I am a 100% Disabled Vietnam Veteran and I have 2 children with ACM, One is a daughter 30 years old and in July of 2008 she went through decompression surgery..my son is 22 an also has ACM and is not ready for surgery yet... I have joined this group to not only learn more about ACM, but to maybe just help some of you that suffer from this illness.. I an a Advocate for Military Veterans and deal mostly with Vietnam Veterans... and after I found out my kids had ACM, I went looking for this illness in the laws of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) to see if they would help my kids as they do with Spina Bifida.. well come to find out the VA not only will help them, but they're illness ACM and others spin related illness are considered by the VA to be related to Spina Bifida. (I would suggest that you read the from the VA's web site if you or your child have something other then ACM because the list is a long one.,) And we have filed claims for both of my children for medical and monetary benefits under the Spina Bifida law... Now to get these benefits , one (1) of your parents ( Father or Mother)must have served in the country of Vietnam or off shore in the waters of Vietnam and been considered to have been exposed to Agent Orange.. (Flash:: The VA now say's all Vietnams Veterans and off shore Vietnam Veterans were exposed to Agent Orange..) Or your parent must have served in Korea and been in one of the listed units that served on the Korean DMZ in the late 1960's into the early 1970's... also you must have proof that they served in one of these places so you will need to have your parents DD-214... if you do not have it you can get it.. if you contact me I will tell you how.. remember these benefits are for Vietnam Veterans Children and Korean vets that served on the DMZ of Korea... ** these benefits have nothing to do with service in WWII or the Korean War** these benefits are a direct result of exposure to Agent Orange... I will be posting more info. on this issue in the coming days.. you mayalso feel free to contact me via email. if you have valid questions about this issue.. I will be glad to help you and get you going in the right direction to get a claim started...if you write me please give meyour city and state so I can help you find a veterans rep. in your areathat will assist you with your claim for benefits..these Rep's will workfor you for free.. and help you get your benefits.. most of them are DAV, VFW, American Legion, VVA or County Veterans Reps... Please if your parent was not in the military and did not serve in Vietnam or off shore please do not contact me as I have many, many others asking for information and help , plus I have other veterans workthat I need to do... so thank you in advance.. for info. from the VA's own web site you can email me privately for the link.. please check it out... thanks and god bless...
