Is there is a connection between having a severe allergy to penicillin and

penicillin-related antibiotics and having a severe reaction to exposure to toxic

mold and mycotoxins? To say it another way, if someone is severely allergic to

penicillin will they be more susceptible to other molds and mycotoxins?

Yes, I am just wondering if any of the doctors have recognized this connection.

Dr. Shoemaker has determined that certain people are more susceptible to toxic

mold, and I was just wondering if he (or other doctors) have found that people

with severe allergic reactions to penicillin are more likely to have serious

health problems from exposure to toxic mold.

Diane,

That is very interesting as I am also highly allergic to Penicillin, have

been since birth and I became ill extremely fast within 3 months of being

exposed. My eldest daughter had never been allergic to Penicillin-had tons

for ear infections when she was a baby. However now since her exposure she

is highly allergic too. Pediatrician says no correlation-but we all know how

" educated " doctors are when it comes to mold!!

It kind of makes sense since Penicillin is a derivative of Penicillium-or

is it the other way around??? Would love to get feedback on this.

I've often asked myself the same question because I'm extremely allergic to a

few molds. Why couldn't it be related? I think it is. The doctors can't be

bothered with it because to them it's a waste of time/money. llaci

I was diagnosed at 12 as being allergic to penicilliin, so was my mother and

grandmother, when I spent $5,000 at an allergist for my mold " allergies " , I

asked him if the treatment would make me un-allergic to penicillin. He said no.

That is when I began to suspect that he could not help me. $5,000 down the

drain. He also did not believe that mold was anything but an allergy.
