I would think that the best solution would be to make copies of them for

immediate reference, and put the originals, as Barb said, in plastic

protectors with

the end taped shut, then put them in a safe, presumably dry place like a

safety deposit box.

You shouldn't throw out important documents. It might be hard to replace

them.
