Can food with mycotoxins make you sick without eating it?

Time and again we hear that the biggest issue with mycotoxins is their

presence in food such as wheat and maize. All kinds of mycotoxins can

be found there: trichothecenes, aflatoxins, zearalenone, ochratoxin ...

I was wondering - has any one of you ever felt the typical mold " hit "

when you only touched wheat or maize (without consuming it)? I mean,

while touching and sniffin at these grains did they ever cause you to

feel the same symptoms as when you are exposed to mold in a moldy

house or to the air from a bad AC unit?

Remember, eating doesn't count.

As for myself, I would have to say it hasn't happened yet. Which is

mightily strange.
