Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I'm not a Dr. but a former teacher who got sick from my building 6 yrs. ago. There have been others since. The first thing that happened to me was chronic allergy problems, bronchitis, sinus and a chronic cough. Allergist started me on shots that only made me worse. Over the course of 2 yrs. I got worse and then my health really took a nose dive. At one point I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. Then debilitating fatigue & headaches, Joint and muscle pain, muscle twitches, terrible thirst, blurred vision, ear pressure and much more. Went from Dr. to Dr. without any relief. To make a long story short I found Dr. Shoemaker in soiuthern land who saved my life. From me it's a 3 hr. drive but well worth every mile. You mentioned that you live in PA. I know that Pocomoke seems like a long drive but believe me if you have a toxic illness he is the best you will find in your area. Go to _www.biotoxin.info_ (http://www.biotoxin.info) and take the VCS test. It is 98% accurate, easy to do, inexpensive and you will get instant results to see if you have a toxic illness. It is a first screening but you at least be on your way to finding out what is wrong. Nothing is more important than your health!!!!! Feel free to contact me ANYTIME if you have any questions. Good Luck! Sue Hi. I'm new to the group. I've browsed the files, links, etc. to see what I could find, and didn't see any doctors mentioned in the PA, NJ, DE area. I live in Northeast Philadelphia, and would like to find someone well versed in asthma, sick building, HVAC allergy, etc. My office was moved from one floor to another in the same building back in June, 2008. I've been working with my allergist and have been put on Advair (which I did not need previous to the move as I was only on meds for my allergies). I am having no luck with my workplace relocating me back to my original office location where I did not have chest/lung symptoms. I am currently getting a 2nd opinion from another allergist, but see that all they want to do is test and prescribe meds. I believe the reaction is due to something with the HVAC system, mold, or sick building. I can smell an odor (others can't). I only have the symptoms at work which take time when I'm not at work to dissipate. I'm afraid of lung damage or who knows what being exposed to this is doing to me. The building is very old and there was a big fire in it back in 1989 and/or 2001. My company did have Airborne Mold Testing done & " the fungal sport count analysis indicates no significant amplification of indoor airborne fungal concentrations as compared to the outdoor environment " The test did show Aspergillus/ The test did show Aspergillus/<WBR>Penicillium, but it I really feel like quitting, but I am self supporting & in this economy finding another job just isn't happening fast enough. Any suggestions or direction on where to go would be appreciated. Thanks, Joanne **************Feeling the pinch at the grocery store? Make meals for Under $10. Guest guest
--- Where Joanne is looking for someone is Pa. I was wondering if anyone had heard of the Woodlands Healing Research Center. Seems like they are similar to the clinic here in Texas. Anyone ever heard anything about them?? Guest guest
I remember a girl Charlotte use to come here or the mcs site and talk about the Woodlands Research Ctr. She use to talk about it being a great place. I forget the doctor's name she use to go to, and I am not sure if her problem was fungal related or chemical injury. But she love that Woodlands Ctr. > > --- > Where Joanne is looking for someone is Pa. I was wondering if anyone had heard of the Woodlands Healing Research Center. Guest guest
I am so glad that I found this group. Thank you so much for your suggestions. I really appreciate it! It sounds like I need to check the Woodlands Research Center out. I browsed their site & found alot of information. They also came up on the www.aaem.com site. It is amazing what is out there if you know where to look or use the correct search terms. As for the VCS test, do you recommend I start with the $20 or go right to test 2 or test 3? I've already spent alot of additional money on co-pays for doctor visits, medications, and CT scans, so it's not about the money. I just want it resolved. Thank you so much Sue, Diane, idelp84227, and those that replied offline. I also ran out to Home Depot and bought the mold test kit even though my reaction was immediate in work when my office was moved as I have had water damage in my condo in the past, so I want to ensure all bases are covered. I look forward to being educated by the wealth of information that I see going through this group. At the same time, it scares the hell out of me lol. > > Hi. I'm new to the group.
