Guest guest
I have looked at the California site you posted. At one time there was a fairly accurate antibody test for Stachybotrys as well as other molds. Unfortunately CLIA forced the laboratory (Immunosciences) to stop offering the test. The test was reliable to show exposure, not illness. Antibodies to foreign agent only demonstrates exposure. The site also states that there is no reliable method for testing mycotoxins in the air or dust. This is B.S. As pointed out by another reader, RealTime Laboratories, Dallas, Texas has a test available for urine, other body fluids as well as biopsy and autopsy specimens. The lab has been inspeced by CLIA and meets all requirements. NIH has just recently requested that Dr. Hooper submit a research grant regarding his methods and applicability. In additon, the lab can test for mold DNA in tissues using PCR. The laboratory also uses the ERMI PCR DNA test to determine if the mold infestation is potentially. In addition, the lab can test for mycotoxins in bulk and dust samples. I have used the lab for this purpose on several different occasions. Jack D. Thrasher, Ph.D. Jack D. Guest guest
Dr. Thrasher, You said, " At one time there was a fairly accurate antibody test for Stachybotrys as well as other molds " . Does that mean that there is no longer a lab that offers accurate antibody testing for Stachybotrys chartarum mold? Also, what do you consider to be the most accurate test available in determining the presence of Stachybotrys chartarum mold in your body? Is it PCR testing of urine or blood serum DNA tissue ? Thank you for your input. - > > I have looked at the California site you posted. At one time there was a fairly accurate antibody test for Stachybotrys as well as other molds. Guest guest
-Just a thought, but according to Shoemaker, those having the mold " gene " do not make antibodies to mold, so can not tag it for removal, thus " chronic nuerotoxins " , so would they not show neg. on this type of test? > Dr. Thrasher, > > You said, " At one time there was a fairly accurate antibody test for > Stachybotrys as well as other molds " . > > Does that mean that there is no longer a lab that offers accurate > antibody testing for Stachybotrys chartarum mold? > > Also, what do you consider to be the most accurate test available in > determining the presence of Stachybotrys chartarum mold in your body?
